Liberty of London Floral Sachets : Lavender Sachets and making me happy

Floral Sachets are one of those things that I never get tired of making. I like so much opening the drawers and have wonderful natural scents! These were made with scraps of some of my favorite Liberty of London fabric prints: Sarah's Secret Garden, Theodora, Katie and Millie and Mirabelle, backed with plain linen or polka dots linen. Aren't they a lovely gift tied with a linen rope and wrapped in silk paper?

Have a great weekend!

Autumn Outdoors

Hello and Happy Monday!! Such a long time since the last post around here. It was not planned at all, happened! I took these photographs a month and half ago when Autumn was giving its first signs, nuts, chestnuts, mushrooms could be found in the woods and plenty of browns, yellows and red colours. Since then every Sunday we are having yummy roasted chestnuts and experimenting different granola recipes with different nuts, seeds and sometimes adding chocolate. For now photographs of what could be found while we were walking.

Have a nice week!

Floral mandala and making me happy

Hello everyone! Do you remember the last mandala I posted here? With those wild natural elements I picked, I created another mandala, in pink-purple, yellow and green colours. Now, looking to the photos I noticed that the center is somehow empty, and it is not quite aligned. All the three so far that I made are quite different but I like all. I will let the pollen set a little more and then I will go for more mandalas for sure. Playing with the natural elements is fun and relaxing for me.

Wish you a nice, long, relaxed weekend!

Collages and making me happy!

Hello lovelies and Happy Tuesday! On the 1st of January this year Stephanie words keep popping in my head. Something like this: "everyone is an artist" "there is no right or wrong". After a while debating with myself I thought "ok, let's try it". Took a sketchbook, glue, paper and started. The most difficult part to decide was starting without overthinking. The best part is that I find it quite relaxing.  Yesterday, I started an online course that is all about collage. I am expecting to learn and above all play with colours, texture, patterns, surfaces, different materials and have fun!

My first five collages that I made back on the beginning of this year were the ones below.

One photo per week: week 6

Hello lovelies! In the beginning of this year, I challenged myself for a photograph each week. Last photograph was from trees in our neighboord  and today we have Porto by night. This picture was taken from Serra do Pilar during Easter as it was the photograph of week 2.  Nights were warmer than usual for this time of the year and Porto was crowded. It is really nice to feel Porto alive!

I took a few of photographs and next photo walks will show Porto.
Have a happy, delicious Easter time Sunday!

Floral mandala with wild elements and making me happy!

Hello lovelies and Happy Friday! As I told you last post, in my walk I could not resist and collected some natural elements: flowers, greens and very small almond branches. For doing this mandala, I started again from the center and disposed the elements, in a canvas surface, without concerns about perfection. My main goal here is to have fun and play with colours, like in the first mandala I made. I am very happy with the mixture of the pink, purple and yellow. Very different from the first one with camellia flowers petals but very nice also.

I will go for another floral mandala. Will you join?

Wish you a nice, relaxed, long weekend!
